Client Success Story: Amy

Work Choice

When Amy joined Work Choice in July 2015 she was low in confidence and self-esteem due to being out of work for some time, as well as dealing with anxiety and depression. Amy has experience in working in admin, within several organisations such as the NHS, Tax Office and Post Office and she was keen to return to this type of work.

In order to update her skills and grow her confidence, Amy volunteered at County Training in Oswestry – carrying out various administrative tasks. She was able to prove herself to be an extremely hard worker who could perform tasks quickly and efficiently. Amy was able to follow instructions well, work independently and form positive relationships within the team. She was also able to complete an NVQ in Customer Service and Employability Skills.

When it came to looking for paid work, Amy was extremely proactive through the use of job websites and was often offered interviews but was not able to get any further.

Enable Employment Officer, Cara, worked closely with Amy and local employers to receive feedback from interviews and arrange potential work trials. Through Amy’s hard work and persistence, she was offered a job at the Cambrian Medical Centre, with a start date in April 2016.

Amy is absolutely thrilled to be returning to work and thanked the staff at Enable for their support and encouragement. She feels her confidence has grown over the months on Work Choice and she has learnt lots of new skills of which she can continue to apply throughout her career.

Well done Amy!
