Success Story Update: Chloe

Supported Internships

At Chloe’s review for her placement at Toni and Guy where she was working as a trainee hairdresser, it was agreed that this was not the ideal career choice for her.  Her supervisor was very impressed with Chloe’s customer services skills and friendly outgoing nature but felt she would not be suitable to be employed at Toni and Guy because of the fast-paced environment. Following this review, Tracey discussed different career options, focused on the positives outcomes that Chloe had achieved and updated her vocational profile. During the discussion, Tracey found out that Chloe loves children and often helps to look after her little sister.

Tracey arranged an interview at Little rascals and a work trial. Chloe loved the work trial and has now started her second Supported Internship with Little Rascals nursery. So far she is really enjoying it! She’s been clearing and wiping tables and sweeping up, stocking up the fridge with drinks, with support for stock rotation and taking out food orders to customers. Chloe’s manager is very supportive and said that she’s been impressed with how Chloe has used her initiative to ask for new tasks after she finishes the one she’s been doing.

After Chloe’s first day of working at Little Rascals, her Job Coach said: “Chloe did so well yesterday! She told me that she loved it there, said that all the staff are really nice and she fitted into the team brilliantly. Her customer service is fantastic and she smiled the whole day. Chloe got on with all jobs and stayed focused the whole day. If she felt that she needed some guidance she was confident enough to ask for help.”
