Success Story Update: Luke
Supported Internships
Luke began his apprenticeship with Edinburgh Woollen Mill in September 2017. He was offered this position after a six week work experience placement which was organised by Enable following the completion of his Supported Internship.
Anne, Luke’s manager said: “He has made a lot of progress, he has lots more confidence and has changed so much since he started. Luke wouldn’t look us in the eye when he first came but is now a very vocal member of the team and happy to engage in banter.”
Luke has had some great feedback from customers who have taken part in a customer service survey and an email was sent to Head Office commenting on the excellent service received at the shop from Luke.
Luke said “I am much more confident now and love being part of the team, I would definitely recommend the Supported Internship/apprenticeship route to others. I have gained so many skills both from my supported internship and now whilst doing my apprenticeship.”
Luke is also doing well in completing his retail NVQ and is supported in store by Sharon. Sharon is very pleased with his commitment.
